Description

sold my separate 2-channel system except the Dynaudio Special 25s.

Now I am in the process of building an integrated HT/2-channel system. Will update in the process.

Hi Abe,
Dan here, you posted on my thread about the Dyn. Contour 5.4's. My 5.4's, like your Special 25's, will be with me till the end, I've got to believe.
For my system, I use a Fosgate pre-pro, a Sonic Euphoria (with a pass-through for MC) passive pre and separate Aragon 300WPCX2 amp to drive my two channel set up. Then there is an Adcom GFA 7400 5X100WPC for center and surrounds. I don't have the multi-channel part of my system hooked up at this time, after a recent system move, I'm enjoying my two-channel set up so much, I haven't bothered with multi-channel as yet.
I really enjoy the flexibility this arrangement affords me, with a premium on stereo, but when multi-channel is working, that sounds good as well. For me, it's been a good approach to enjoying both formats in the relative quality I deem necessary for listening to each.
I'll be looking in from time to time to see how your upgrades go, have lots of fun with it, and enjoy yourself.
Regards, Dan

Hello Abe,
I caught your question to IslandmanDan
and thought I would make a friendly suggestion.

I owned the Dynaudio Anniversary 25s since shortly after they appeared on the market, 2004.

The 25s were a second pair of speakers that I kept on hand and would use on occasion...I'm a Quad electrostatic fan.

A Atma-Sphere M60 MK11 or MKIII amplifiers are an incredible match with this speaker.
I can guarantee you have not heard half of what these speakers can do.

Owner
Angel,

Can't say enough good things about these Dyn's. They will be with me for a looooong time.

My previous separates were Bryston 4B-ST amp and Camelot Uther v2 mk III DAC with volume control (so I don't have to use a pre-amp ) The sound is very clean, neutral, detailed yet musical. Everythig I am looking for. Some say they tend to sound 'bright' or 'hash'. Nosense! The so called 'musical' they heard from other system are NOT music but harmonic distortions!

The low end Yamaha A/V receiver I have right now is phonamenal, especially using its on board DAC. I have heard so many good words about Yamaha's amps and their DSPs, but wasn't quite prepared for such performance. They are only shy on very loud performance as it only gets 75W per channel. Simply put, I am stuck with Yamaha brand. Currently I have Yamaha RX-Z1 or RX-V3300 in mind. The upcoming RX-Z9 is awesome but too expansive for me.

Hi Abe, thanks for checking my system last month. Aren`t those Dynaudio something? I am curious regarding you change from two channel separates to a multichannel receiver. What separates you had previously and how different is the sound now with the receiver? Did the sonics decrease by pairing the Special 25 with the receiver? i know that you are in the process of upgrading, i`ll be following it closely, regards, Angel.(I end up selling my audio research stuff and got a Pathos Classic One)
