This system brings lots of enjoyment. My room is 20 feet by 30 feet with 12 to 18 foot ceiling. This is a very open and live sound not much damping to the system.

Charles was just here and we compared his records with the same cd's and it was pretty close. I thought the vinyl was a touch more dynamic on the leading edges and maybe the outlines of the instruments were a little bigger, other than that too close to call. Digital sure has improved since the early days.
Yes Jeff, I also thank you for sharing your great system and great room!
Jeff: Charles, it's like 3:30 in the morning... Charles: But.. just one more record.. I promise.... Jeff: but.. you said that same thing after each of the last three....
Knghifi, I agree about the room size.If Robert Harley`s room could comfortably accommadate the Rockport Altairs then jeff`s larger space should be fine.Looking forward to hearing this speaker and the magnificent Absolare Passion 845 SET amplifier(based on CES listening this year) in this system. Regards,
Knghifi, the ESP's have that automatic angle in their design. I don't tilt the speakers at all. Shawn from ESP wants the sound to cross in front of you. He use to be part of the team that designed the Beveridge Electrostatic speakers and his design is to mimic some of it. By the way the ESP is 96db efficient, but does go down to 4 ohms. It likes a lot of power.
Hi Jeff, I`m glad you posted your beautiful and well thought out system and share it with other members here. I`ve enjoyed many hours of listening to blissful music in this room over the years. Regards,
Your room has the size to accommodate the Rockport Altair PROPERLY and should sound fantastic. My family room is similar size, 25'x33'x15' w/tray ceiling. But due to the design, I can only use 1/2 the long wall for my system. If I decide to stay, will remodel so can use short wall and buy bigger speakers.
Your speaker has extreme toe-in. Is this normal for ESP?
