Jaf2290, that sounds logical. Try it out and see if you can hear any difference. Look for a quiet noise floor, in other words, turn up your volume with no music and listen for hum. The less the hum, the more music you will hear. Good luck.

Many here will agree that separating your digital sources from all other components would be important. The next level (when you add your 3rd line) could be to separate the amps from the analog sources and pre-amp. You could try these and other configurations and find the one you like the best.
