Description

Edgar Horn Titan 2 Field Coils Ultimate speakers.  Custom designs by Dr. Bruce Edgar, all parts are handpick to my preference.  Russian birch plywood 1’ all around,   3 way configuration, with the Seismic subwoofer.  Custom automotive paint, PPG primer, PPG white Gold Leave color and PPG clear coat.

1) Fostex super Tweeter 500mk2 Magnesium
2) JBl 375 custom 4.5’ BE Diaphragm, field coils
3) JBL 515 Custom 15’ midbass, field coils
4) Seismic Subwoofer custom  JBL 18’ field coils

I have always been a horn and triode person, to me nothing beats horn and tube combination.  I took things to another level, the king of speakers “ Horns and Field Coils”!  I have always ask myself if i can outdo from what i have, with 35+ yrs of experience in this hobby, i came up with this combo (horn with field coils). This to me is at another Elite level,  extremely dynamics with transients speed,  high level without distortion, details without the fatigue and most of all it’s like listening to live music in front of your listening room.  Happy Listening!

Awesome! Dr, Edgar came into Brooks Berdan Ltd. on Saturdays fairly regularly over the years I hung out there, but for some reason Brooks never had a pair of Edgar's horn loudspeakers on demo. Bruce is a very sweet man, always smiling and very enthusiastic.

Brooks' widow Sheila has been managing the shop since Brooks' passing, and is getting set to move the operation up here to Washington State sometime this year. Maybe I can talk her into getting a pair of Edgar Horns in, so I can finally hear them!

Jo... i am using my forsell as my go to TT, to me it’s one of ‘ most musical TT’ very rare to find in excellent condition.  My digital is the Dynastation Dynavox. It runs on pure Dc car batteries, as close to pure analog you can get.

RE..i was never a fan of sub with 2 channels listening, with these it made me think again.  It’s very musical, dynamics and extremely details.  Happy Listening!

zipost I checked out your other system pages that's an awesome collection of gear you have! Are you still running the Forsell TT and Dynastation CD player? Love all the classic 90s gear cheers!

JO... i have couple of options: New Audio Frontier 845 parallel, Vac 300b and Triode Lab 2a3 parallel.   I prefer the 2a3, i like the seductive and emotional of the triode lab.  These are solid state power supply, 16v @2amps per unit, total of 5 units including the sub

Awesome horns Zipost what are you driving them with? Also are your field coil power supplies SS or tubed?

Dr. Edgar was behind the engineering of the cabinets, hand built the speakers at his facility and tuned the speakers according to my room.  The drivers are from Sam Says, field coils with the 1st production Truextent BE diaphragm.  Sam spent most of his time fine tuning the speakers to match with the drivers.  The custom exterior finished,  done from an automotive paint facility, Audi Gold Green Leave colors by PPG, 5 clear coats from PPG.

Absolutely fantastic. Where did you source the field coils for your horns? Did Dr Bruce provide them?
