I'm using the pre-outs on the Denon Rcvr to the Carver to power the DQ-28's. Not sure if this is technically an appropriate amplifier for these speakers. At this time I'm using a Denon 1910 (DVI) as a cd player.
Eventually I will move the Carver and DQ's into another room for an audio only setup, leaving the rest of the system for HT. To this end I will need to acquire a decent CD player in the range of $600. Any suggestions would be great. I'll also need a decent sub. I had a Veldoyne 12" (don't remember the model) that I was really pleased with years ago. Additionally, the Carver will eventually be replaced with something powerful enough to drive the DQ's appropriately. Again suggestions here would be great. Budget around $1000 for the amp/preamp or integrated.
Anxious to hear the forum's thoughts and suggestions!
Well, I was borrowing the Velodyne for about a year, then had to give it up =(
The Yamaha? Well, it's a bit muddy, not very accurate. Really I just use for HT, it kind of gets in the way for music. Although on some albums (Dark Side of the Moon, some SRV) I like the thump it adds if I turn the crossover down all the way <=50Hz and rotate the volume to about 60%.
