Hi Dath,
Beautiful system. I am sure it sounds terrific. I would suggest that you try some Symposium Rollerblocks under the EMC1 along with either a Symposium Ultra Platform or a Silent Running platform that is custom built for each piece of equipment. I was floored by the improvement Rollerblocks made. Do invest in the grade 3 Tungsten Carbide Balls (they are worth the extra money) Ensemble's Isolink Duo is another great move for the EMC1 and the Pre-amp. I have an EMC1 24/192 that I had upgraded this past summer by Alan Warshaw and absolutely love the unit. The tweaks bring the EMC1 to a significantly higher level. I have Rollerblocks under the EMC1, Pre-Amp controller box, Pre-Amp power box and under the Ensemble Isolink. Each addition of the Rollerblocks undre another piece was equal to an equipment upgrade in the sound improvement.

Best Regards,
Larry

Hi Patmatt,

Sorry it took so long to respond to your message but I got a new job that immediately sent me out of the country and I hadn't been back in the swing of things since.

Thank you for the kind words about my system and congratulations on the fine system that you have put together for yourself.

Regarding the use of a subwoofer, I had done all of my listening without using one feeling that I was already getting as much low end as I needed. But my brother convinced me to try his Muse model five sub and I was floored. The sub gave my live recordings that little extra bit of realistic presence that made the already holographic imaging of the speakers sound even better.

I've talked to Mike Farnsworth of Talon a number of time about the ROC, then the ROC X, then the ROC 2002,a nd now the ROC 12. He swears that the ROC 12 will blow away the competition so I will probably add one to my system eventaully.

By the way do you ever visit the Electrocompaniet fan club website?

Well double o seven, that is one hell of a system. How do I know, you may ask? 1.) I heard it at the New York show recently. 2.) I own a comparable system. I've got a 4.7 driving the AW250DMB. That's connected to a pair of Peregrines.(Not the X) Speaker wire in my rig is the Straight Wire Black Silc. Digital source equipment is the Perpetual Technologies P1A/P3A with all the latest mods from Modwright. Transport is a Camelot Technologies Merlin. I love my system. Especially since I replaced the pre-amp and amp. I think it's the Electrocompaniet gear that really makes it all happen for me. Everyone who visits has noticed a tremendous change in the system. I wonder how such powerful amplification can be so delicate and clear? You however, get to play with the Nemo's. My absolutely favorite pair of mono-blocks in this world. There is not a pair of speakers that doesn't sound better being driven by them. My question to you is this- even though the Peregrines go very low, have you contemplated a sub? And if so, which one would you buy? The no-brainer of course is the Roc, but are there others you're interested in or do the Peregrines give you every last bit of OOOOMPH that you need? You're a lucky man, 007! I look forward to your response and congratulations on your most excellent system!
