Thanks for the tip. I am an avid collector of ads speakers and have just purchased a dead mint pair of 1530's. I have not had time to hook them up as i am in the middle of remodeling my home. Cant wait to get them going!

Hi ChrshanI37,
I rewired the tweeters with OCC 28 AWG pure silver and wired the remaining drivers with 18 AWG OCC copper wire all sourced from VH Audio. There was a drastic improvement in every aspect of performance. The weakest remaining link in the ads was the connecting posts. I replaced these with WBT0708s and the performance went up again. The new WBT connectors also required a .25" quick connect. Used gold plated brass Furtech quick connects for all connections to speakers and crossovers. Also soldered wires to quick connects using WBT 4 % silver solder. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

Another fellow ADS owner from Minnesota here. Can you please tell me what your mods are to the speakers?

Hi Yani55404 - How do you like your cornscalas? Which style did you choose? I almost went for the cornscala type D, but went ahead and built wayne parham's 4pi design. I am pretty sure your cornscala's are very dynamic. I am interested in knowing if they are coherent sounding and if Bob Crites' crossovers do a good job of making the speaker sound integrated and musical. Please do let me know your opinion.

Hi Looks like Minnesota is not to hip on talking about stereo equipment. I just joined this site, I live in Plymouth. I'm into Mcintosh, c-41 preamp, MC 2105 Amp, home made Cornscalla speakers, fashioned after klipsch Cornwall and LaScalla heritage series. I also use a MMF 2.2 turntable and I-pod lossless for music storage, running it through a wireless DAC. I also have a Tadscam CD recorder to make copy's of vinyl that I love.

Thank you Schubert. I listen to most everything but country. Lots of classic rock, jazz and classical. I have not tried treatments. Do you think they would make a marked difference and if so, what would these be?

klccharter

Very nice system, should be able to play about anything !
Obvious you know what you are doing.
What kind of music do you listen to? Ever tried any treatment on paneling behind speakers?

Thanks Baranyi. You're welcome to have a listen if you ever find yourself in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St.Paul).

Nice system. Would love to hear ADS 1530's with Audio Research Gear!
