Nice setup, I also have a 140 with the Cremonas I bought a pair of Shunyata Andromrda's speaker cables and there just awesome.

I have a fairly similar setup with MF Trivista SACD player, Hovland pre, and the premier 140.

But, if you are looking for some mid range magic, I'd say try the Cardas Golden Reference or Shunyata ICs from your CD to Pre.

I'm thinking of upgrading to the CJ Art myself, any thoughts on the combo with the Premier 140?

Might think about trying different cabling ...

Yes, Taters ,CJ equipment traditionally has been warm--that is why I have always liked it. What you are "missing" is that these particular "highest end" ones are not!

Nice system! You might consider a tube CDP or DAC - it may give you a tonal balance you'd prefer over the SS stuff. Worked for me.

I have always considered CJ equipment to be warm sounding.
Am I missing something?

Very Nice set up. As tube gear goes..yours is primo and superb sounding. But, this kind of tube gear quality is anything but "tubey" so to speak... and is really far more neutral and with much better detail, resolution, depth, space and balanced at the Freq. extremes than your typical tube gear sound. I wouldn't recommend tube rolling with this equip..CJ has done very well with the chioce of tubes for these applications. I do agree with Potsey, perhaps changing IC's would be an avenue to explore.
I have listened to the Nu Vista 3D and found it very involving and musical..better than my Wadia 23, which is not as warm over all.
Best of luck with your system!

sounds like you want a little more weight and warmth in the mid bass. I went through the same period with my tube system, try a designer reference intercon between the player and pre amp. MAJOR DIFFERENCE

Nice tube setup!
