Your Kimber and the Rotel and do not forget a good AC cord for your next CD

Dittos on the Rotel. Does it have a digital out? Pick up a used MSB Link DAC for $200+

The Kimber and Rotel both are thin and flat, particularly in the highs. Siltech or HT interconnects are the very good with Plinius (particularly Siltech). I would consider a CAL cd player if you like more detail or a Rega Planet/Creek CD53 if you're looking for more life/energy.

yah no doubt about it. the cd player must go.

I have run Kimber Kable Hero's in the past and replaced them with Harmonic Technology Truthlinks. Truthlinks are slightly warmer than Hero's. If your system sounds "zippy", I would guess it's the Hero. Nice system.

IMHO the Rotel CD player is "without question" the weakest link. You can (and should) do better. The rest of the system is quite nice and perfectly capable of utilizing a better front end.
