One hell of a natural sounding system, thanks in greatest part, interestingly, to the analogue stage of the DV-37! It's converted to balanced output, w/Audio Artisan analogue stage. That analogue mod is simply awesome- kills all others I've heard, but I haven't heard the Audience mods. Maybe get combo of Audience / Audio Artisan mods for the Poineer AX-10 source, some day... VR-5 HSE's are a fantastic value- integration is organic, presentation is extraordinarily musical. Awesome highs, best-among-cabinet-speakers midfrange driver/cone and quick, detailed, powerful upgraded twin magnesium 7" bass drivers. VK-150SE monoblocks are not overkill, interestingly. It should be noted that I like my music at a rather er, "engaging" volume level. Only wish I had the room for the VR-7's. BTW- screw biwiring; try Audience Au-24 cables w/jumpers. See if your other cables color the sound. Only others I've really enjoyed are Analysis plus speaker cables. The Au24's I have are one meter for each channel-shorter makes big difference. The BAT stuff- well, I've always loved it. Really needs my dedicated single-duplex 10-gauge 30-amp power line. The Powersnakes & Hydra-most love, some hate. I'll bet you can guess which category I fall into :) Let me know what you think/ opinions on possible tweaks! Thanks, Larry
Larry- I too own the 150se amps. I had previously owned the Shunyata Viper V2 power cords. I have since switched to Acoustic Zen Krakatoa. I found that they offer more of everything than the Viper, I also thought it to better the King Cobra V1 (I haven't heard the V2) I also have owned the Hydra and found that the Sound Application CF-X to offer a lot better performance.
