Description

This might be overkill for my office at work, but I find that I listen to more music in the home office during work than at home these days.

My system is now 100% different than the original (iPod, Monitor Audio i-Deck & Polk ASW-100).

    • Arcam DV89 (DVD Player)
Jan 2013 - eBay purchase without remote. Kinda beat up, the display sometimes wigs out while playing, but otherwise sounds and performs fantastic!
    • Audioquest Black Mamba II
    Jan 2013 - Arcam DV89 to Arcam AVR-200.
    • Pioneer SX-727
March 2015 - Craigslist. What a dramatic improvement over the Arcam AVR-200!
    • Audioquest FLX/SLiP - 14/2
July 2013 - I bought this cable to test different cables for rear in-wall cabling and I liked it best on my office system.
    • B&W DM600
    April 2015 - Craigslist
    • B&W AS-1
Jan 2013 - Another eBay steal! I'm really impressed with the performance of this! Sure, if you really crank up the system to reference levels, it cannot keep up, but I don't expect it to do that.
    • B&W Speaker stands
Jan 2013 - eBay purchase. In perfectly fine shape with rubber feet and spikes on the speaker plate. No markings to actually indicate they are B&W brand as the seller on eBay said they were. I worthwhile addition to the system.

System edited: Different receiver and speakers - Pioneer SX-727 (from 1972!!!) and B&W DM600's. Wow - I have kicked things up dramatically over the Arcam AVR200 and B&W LM1's.

System edited: Added prices paid and dates purchased to the system. Now that I upgraded the receiver from Arcam AVR100 to AVR200 I should be done messing with this system for a while. It is after all just for the home office. The AVR200 was a worthwhile upgrade actually - cost me $40 to upgrade after selling the AVR100 to a friend.

System edited: I have now retired the Onkyo CR-325 with the addition of the Arcam AVR-100. That should be the end of upgrades to this system for a while. With a few hours of listening, the detail of the Arcam far exceeds the Onkyo and is more laid back, more musical. I am happy with this upgrade.

System edited: This is my evolving office system. The Arcam DV89 has been a dramatic improvement over the Onkyo internal cd. I recently picked up the B&W AS1 on eBay which is the perfect match to the LM-1's. The sub just disappears compared with my old Polk PSW-110.
