Description

I've done a few upgrades over the past year or so. I've been pleased with every one of the steps though. The system sounds so natural and smooth. At the same time, the Kefs keep the sound so clear you can hear every pin drop. I like the way this system gets me a great listening room and at the same time, takes movies to an awesome level.

The REL is a great woofer but my main consideration in all of this is to get the biggest bang for my buck. To get an REL that will compeet with the ML you would simply have to spend more money on the REL. Same goes for Revel. The review of the ML woofer by Stereophile is a rare instance of Stereophile writing a good review of a product that is truly good.
Good luck.

Thanks for the input. I think I will look a little more into Parasound. How would you characterize the Martin Logan sound versus the Revel or even REL?

Parasound is a huge bang for the buck. The C2 is virtualy identical to the C1 but a lot less expensive. Aragon is not as good as it once was. It is good but just not for the $.
Revel is a good woofer. the Martin Logan woofers are a huge bang for the buck though.

Don't waste time or money on terribly fancy interconnects. A well constructed interconnect of the propper length (not too short but not too long) is worth spending $100/meter pair. You want good sized barrels that allow easy gripping so as to not damage the interconnect but not so large as to crowd the processor. they should be solid OFC and fairly priced. Dealers will usualy give you an acceptable discount on interconnects (15% and free shipping).
Fancy power cords are a rip off unless you have a VERY high resolution system and more money than sense.
Keep in mind that changeing every interconnect in your system will make a maximum calculateable sound difference of about 1dB while moveing a speaker a foot to one side or the other can make a 3dB sound difference. The subjective difference after spending big$$$ on cables is often more psychoaccustic than anything.
