I'm trying to reach nirvana with my integrated Audio and Home Theater system. Please leave your suggestions. What are the weak points? Are there any tweaks I should make? Any wholesale changes neccessary? Any components not fit? Thanks in advance. Happy listening & watching!
Thanks Gjames. I love the HTS 7.1. I've tested the 568 and thought the HTS 7.1 bettered it. My favorite piece is the McIntosh C200 preamp. You don't read much about it, but I absolutely love the sound - and the looks are great too. I'm in the process of upgrading my amp from the Krell FPB300cx to the McIntosh MC1201 monoblocks. Thanks for your comments.
Great system, I can't imagine needing any improvements unless you upgraded to 801s!! How do you like the HTS 7.1? I'm considering trading my Meridian 568 for one to gain the multichannel inputs, but don't want to sacrifice any of the musicality that the Meridian presents.
Thanks for the feedback. I forgot to list the sub (it's M&K 350). The C200 has a theater throughput - This allows me to pass the HT processor signal through the preamp at unity gain when using HT. I have all balanced Golden Reference cables.
Nice system but where is the subwoofer? Have you tried connecting the 850 directly the Krell 300cx using balanced cable? I had an 850 and it was connected to the FPB 250M with balanced. How are you integrating the Mc preamp and the HTS? Also I would try to use all balanced cables between the HTS and the Krell amps if possible. I have integrated a Wadia 860 and an EAD Signature in my system using all balanced for the front speakers. I built a balanced switch box that allows me to connect the 860 and EAD directly to the FPB250 amps. The switch box's input is selectable by using the EAD's 12V trigger output. This works much better than swapping cables.
