Description

Sold off pretty much everything. SWMBO did not like the 'homegrown' speakers so decided to start fresh. Kept the analog front end so will need some type of phono stage but will also be looking at a digital NAS solution. Possibly a PS Audio PWT/PWD setup.

System edited: System edited: Trying out a set of PS Audio Statement, and Plus speaker cables in place of the Goertz wire. Still not broken in yet so will wait to pass judgement.

System edited: Added the new preamp, an interconnect and some power conditioning. A definite improvement, but as I noted it also showed me what an excellent pre the SFL2 still is.

Thanks. I see you have a set of home built speakers as well. It is a great way to get decent sound on the cheap. (well, relatively speaking) I used Focal and Davis drivers in mine as well as Goertz silver wire and high quality X-over components. I will likely stick with these for a while as any upgrades will be big bucks. I am looking to go single box (as mentioned earlier) on the CD /Dac and maybe even on the pre. I am considering BAT on that as well, but am not sure what level I will have to go to for better sound than the SFL2. It really is an awesome sounding preamp.

I was actually thinking about going with a one box system for the CD system. Possibly a BAT or Wadia. Not really seriously looking yet, but once the bug hits hard it will happen.

Trade the Dac for a SFD2 or 3.
