Description

Got out of law school and finally had the means to work on a proper stereo. I'd really appreciate some advice on upgrade paths. I love my speaker and integrated amp - I know there isn't a lot of power here and the monitors are a little small for the size of my living room but they're great for now (when it is time to move on, what pieces would you recommend to get the same type of sound?). Everything else in my system is a work in progress. Any advice on a DAC to pair with the iTransport when it comes out (something in the $1500 range with multiple inputs would be best)?

    • VTL IT-85
Upgraded from a Musical Fidelity A3.5 integrated. Love the sound.
    • Joseph Audio RM-7si
Fell in love with these speakers. I auditioned Paradigm Audio, Dali and a few other monitors - I had the strongest response to these
    • Wadia iTransport
    When it comes in
    • Musical Fidelity X-Dac-v8
I need to get a DAC to use with the iTransport. I like MF, this is in my price range and I've heard good things.
    • NAD C-541
I spent most of my first round budget on the integrated and speakers and I plan on spending the second round on the Itrasnport and a DAC. I'm not all that happy with this piece and would like to upgrade but don't want to put much more money here if the Itransport works as well as I'm anticipating.
    • Sansui 2000a Tuner
    Nice little tuner
    • Red Dawn ??
Don't have much to say here.
    • Synthetic Research ??
Don't have much to say here.
    • Venom ??
Don't have much to say here.
