This is the first 2ch system I've pieced together (of my own). I'm looking at tables, probably a Rega P3 or Music Hall MMF7.1, not sure. Eventually will probably have some sort of power conditioning, maybe Richard Gray's since it's not current limiting. I'm sure I'll be upgrading every piece withing the next year or so, because that's just how I am when I get into things :)
Thanks! I'm looking into new power chords actually... I'll probably check out Tara Labs, Analysis Plus, or Acoustic Zen.
Since I posted this, I've had the worst run-in with the "blown left-channel fuse" problem. Many fuses, and two days later, it seems that running the balanced outputs from my pre-amp is sending a spike through to the amp if it's turned on after the amp.... this is the weirdest thing I've ever experienced with any piece of electronic equipment in my life. Not to mention, it's what I do for a living! So, now I just leave it on ALL THE TIME. I've found other incidences with it happening to people using the 12v trigger, but I'm not.
Anyways, it sounds phenomenal, my only problem: way too much bass! Wow. It's a lot for my room. I like it though. I've got to be getting close to 400w per channel, it's got some serious muscle.
I've been a fan of Rotel products ever since I bought one of their CD players back in the early 1990's--it was a significant improvement over my Yamaha. I also owned the 1072 for a couple of years. It is a great player.
Maybe upgrade your power cables? If you like Analysis Plus, I myself use the Oval 10.
Looks really balanced. Post pics if you can... Make sure you can try the Gray in YOUR system before you commit, as they seem to work in some conditions (not at my house!)better than others. I like the Furutech myself, and the price is right.
