a beginner in HIFI. so dont know where to start or what to upgrade at the moment. open to any opinions. anyway i have some questions regarding the racks and cables. need some advice on them. budget consious over racks and cables. thanks.
Sounds like you have the classic set-up that is VERY BIG in the U.K.,which is not such a bad thing. I had a similar rig for a while. Enjoy the sounds while you can. As I am sure you know, this hobby is one of continual experimentation, and upgrades. Some changes that I have made were great improvements.Others, not really worth the effort. Audiogon is great for this hobby, because you can try different things without paying full price. The only thing is to make sure the person you buy from has good feedback. The whole feedback system is still based on a gentlemans' aggreement that you will get what you paid for in respect to condition.
The NAD 320/B&W 602S3 combination has good synergy and is a pairing that the British press (What Hi Fi, for example) recommends quite often. I am not familiar with the Cayin CDP ... but given that it is a tube unit ... its probably adds a nice smoothness to the sound. I found that the NAD will do well with a good set of cables & interconnects, but you don't have to go overboard. I went with Signal Cable and am pretty happy with the results http://www.signalcable.com.
