I wouldn't call your system 'tiny' (minimalist maybe). It is quite upscale!

I heard some saying Gryphon has synergy with Dyns but haven't have chance to audition them. I have a pair of Dyn Special 25's driven by Bryston 4b-st and I like it alot. They just kind of 'ruthless' in revealing the source, bad recordings won't get a chance to hide!

GREAT choice on 1.3se, they are *superb*! I had my eyes on them in the begining but bumped into this good deal on 25's so ...

p.s. I also have my system listed here on Audiogon. Check'em out! :-)

Hi Vmm,

1.3SE requests powerful amp to drive to the best. For this price range, I cannot think of other bookshelf, which is clean and dynamic to match Callisto. Bass quality is more than you can image from a 6 inches unit but of course cannot compare with floorstand one. With the help from the power conditioners and cables, the soundstage is wide and deep, but they require quite a lot of toe-in for better image. If your place is big enough, you can also consider 25th special.

Hello Wally,
I also own a Callisto 2200 and I am interested in knowing how the Contour 1.3SE fits it. I actualyy have VR4, huge, full range speaker, and was considering switching to monitors. How is the bass? Soundsatge?
Thank you,
vib

System edited: A new member Heighliner join the party. It replace the position of G6 RubyHill at amp. G6 is now connecting to ALS-777.

System edited: Replace the Furutech RTP6 power bar to Combak ALS-777. Laid back soundstage and more precise the focus.

System edited: Change the speaker cable from AQ Volcano to Kimber 3035. Although 3035 can't beat Volcano at the bass, 3035 sound more eligant.
