Description

An awesome sounding, hard-rocking, bullet-proof system that has been together for 11 years now. The exception being the NAD C521BEE, which replaced my dead Nakamichi MB-2 a year ago. I've auditioned other systems and components and see no reason to change anything. Of course, if the Acurus bit the dust, I wouldn't mind a McCormack or Aragon.

    • N H T 2.5
Original version, not the 2.5i. I preferred the version WITHOUT the aluminum tweeter, which I found a tad too bright. I love these speakers. The image amazingly and have a taut, driving low-end. The mids are a bit lean, but nit annoyingly so in any way.
    • Acurus A-150
    Sweet sounding, bullet-proof budget powerhouse.
    • B&K Components PRO-10MC
Great phono stage was what initially attracted me. The direct bypass is a big plus. Outstanding for the $.
    • NAD C512BEE
    Great sounding, smooth, sweet giant-killer.
    • Denon DP-23F
    Decent, inexpensive vinyl spinner.
    • Sumiko Bluepoint
    Great budget cartridge!
    • Yamaha TX-330ti
Good sensitivity. I paid $20 at a garage sale so I could listen to SF Giants games.
    • Kimber PBJ
    Best budget IC's out there.
    • Audioquest Type 4
Best budget speaker wire out there.
    • Adcom ACE-515
    Great, silent conditioner.
