Began putting this one together by combing sites just like this one. Found some pretty good deals and just kept trading up. Lots of fun and not too much risk if you ask me. Beware shipping speakers. You will never recover damages from UPS. Better to find some for sale within driving distance. Inviting all comments and suggestions from viewers. How about some suggestions for an amp upgrader within 2K used?
Allison, are you sure the amp is the obvious choice for upgrading next? You may want to consider the CDP as the next logical choice to improve your overall sound (I come from the school that puts emphasis on the front end, following the garbage-in garbage out theory; nothing downstream will fix the signal coming from the source components). Hasve you considered adding a decent analog front end? There's plenty of affordable turntables available here on Audiogon. If you really want to change amps, what are you considering, tubes or solid state? What is it about the Manley amp that you find lacking?
