Can't say I know of any Room Treatments for Dummies books. You might wish to read the University textbook by F. Alton Everst, Master Handbook of Acoustics. Pick the brains of people whose rooms you admire. Buy an acoustical measurement device and study would be my recommendations, unless you wish to hire someone to do it all.

Hello Kevinzoe,
No, I have not read that book. I will check it out. Room acoustics is one of the most daunting and intimidating things for me. Seems very overwhelming sometimes. Hard to know where to start. And I do not have any measuring devices for it either.

Is there a "Room treatments for dummies" book? I think i may need it.

Forgot to mention, I also need a better Power Conditioner and Power Cables. Right now I have everything running through Monster Power HTS 2000 MKII. Not the best, but it works okay for now. Forgot to list that on my system page.

Thanks for the tip on the book. Any other suggestions?

Thanks again

Hi Audionut,
Of the 3 things you've listed that you're working on, I'd recommend the acoustical treatments as providing significantly more sonic benefits. Have you read Dr. Floyd Toole's book about the physics of small room acoustics? There are lots of great Systems on here with acoustical treatments that will provide you with ideas, and if you email the people they are usually willing to explain what was done.

Do you own an acoustical measurement tool like OmniMic or XYZ?

Good luck and have fun.
