Hi again,
No longer looking for rack, as I've just purchased a beautifully engineered, and just plain beautiful Steve Blinn Extra wide 3 shelf rack.
One 2" maple shelf supports the Ayre CDP & Krell Integrated.
Two 1 1/2" maple shelves support: Musical Fidelity V-dac, Sony networked BDP, Aple Time Capsule, G-Drive 1TB hd, Cable box, and PS Audio Quintet.
Unwisely, room treatment has always been relegated to the bottom of the list. It is time for this inequity to be addressed.
I live in a small studio apt. 11' ceilings. Room is 10'x14'. All equipment is on rack 1' from wall facing away from 2 8' tall windows. speaker seperation is 5', and distance form side walls is about 2'. Listening spot is about 9' from speakers (which are slightly toed in). Rack with spikes sits on heavy pile area rug, and there are 2 additional heavy area rugs between me and the speakers (they do not fit the width of the room). In back of the rack, again, is a wall with 2 very large windows. Heavy curtains, and metal venetian blinds round out that wall. I sit on a couch on opposite wall that has an opened arched doorway leading into the kitchen. There is nothing on the wall that the couch sits against.
What do I do? Where do I start? Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
