Description

Very happy with the overall music and sound balance  - main thing for me is; am I engaged in the music....for example; recently owned Audio Physics Avanti which sounded more accurate, clean, transparent and with better soundstage but I found myself listening to the sound and not the music.... somehow it was too analytical for my taste....I found myself skipping tracks rather than listening to the entire albums, and barely was I tapping my foot or nodding my head....came back to ProAc and I am again, sitting in my chair forgetting about the sound and just happy tapping my feet in the rhythm of the music....

Biggest challenge for me - the room acoustics.....as you can see I am setup in a partially finished basement.... 30 feet long, 15 feet wide and 7 feet high...(this is half of the basement - other half divided by a wall)...biggest problem is that walls and floor are poured concrete.

Latest setup:
Amp; Coda Technology 15.5....great for some of my music but miss my ARC Reference amps (I tried 110, 150SE and 75SE) - I will probably go back to ARC 150SE....Ref 110 was second and 75SE very close but just a notch below 110...which surprised me ... Clearly my music preference plays a role and makes the selection for "perfect" system hard.
I love Progressive Rock (say Pink Floyd) but then I also love ambient, (Eno) and so called Downtempo / Chill-oout (female vocals + drums / synthesizers )

The rest is Parasound JC-2BP,  ProAc K-6 Signature and and Esoteric N-05 as source with Parasound Halo CDP-1

All wires upgraded to Kimber Select

Cary CDP1, Calsse CDP, ProAc D30R, XLO ICs and ARC amps - sold

Hey, Thanks for posting the pic. Setup looks cool. I believe these are the ProAc D30R. You also have the K6 in a different setup?
Room treatments will help a lot. Take time to adjust the speaker positions and the ProAc sing amazing! Enjoy your music,

milpai

Looks like a nice system. You should post some pics.
I read your thread about the preamp.
Suggest that you look at the Backert Labs Rhumba. This will get you the perfect gain. I also own a pair of ProAcs and love them.
