I have been tweaking this system for 2 years. I have changed everything but the Mac preamp. I have been thinking about upgrading it, too. I am considering a Shindo preamp. I do not have a turntable and probably never will. Most Shindo preamps have a phono stage. It feels like I would be spending a lot of money for half of a full-function preamp. I would appreciate any comments. Thanks.
My dealer is recommending the new Masseto, which is more expensive than the Aurieges. (It lists for about $11K.) I wonder if this pre is worth it when I do not plan on using a turntable (at least at this point).
Johnp165 - Shindo does make a linestage-only preamp called the Aurieges-L. I suggest contacting Jonathan Halpern at Tone Imports in New York for more info.
