my main goal is to upgrade my speaker. secondly my dream is to complete my system with mbl pree amp and dac. i am happy with my system, but some time my bricasti M1 some times drives me nuts, due to its 16 filters. i used to have wadia 16i as my source and pree, so here the mbl transport and bricasti took place, oviously i love wadia sound and certainly mbl have different approach, a aprach called channel separation.
please advice me what speaker should i have and sould i really need a pree. i strictly dont listen any other source than cd.
in my buket list i have amphibian topof the line one(cant reall the name) and mbl116f
the first and most importance suggestion is to upgrade your speakers. I don't know you have listen to mbl speakers before and I don't know what is your room dimension(to suggest which mbl speakers), but if you want real, effortless, true-to-life sound, then nothing can touch mbl. Your speaker is the most importance in a system and you build around your speaker. You can have a million dollars gears in your system, but if your speakers can't deliver it, then it not worth to upgrade the gears.
System edited: i listen McIntosh for long time, still have my aragon 8008 bb and wadia16i cd players. but MBL spellbound with its sound on 9007 power amp and with its 1621A cd transport its even get on a higher level but wadia's sound really dragging me back, but the channel separation and detailed presentation sometimes blow my mind. need to change my speakers though tsi500 doing wonders at this price. my dream is to add mbl6010D pree and the mbl 1611f dac. though i am against pree but the zest of 1621A cant be reveal with out the robust mbl 1611F dac. bricasti is shocking, i hooked up my oppo105 with bricasti useing tranparent premium spdif and use filters6 its just blow my mind, insane presentation of movie sound, the background detail is simply scary. YET 16 filter of bricasti drive me nuts some times, not i reside on filter minimum 2. filter3 and 7 is my fav on liner mode. any bricasti user please advice or shaper your opinion, please. i just brought bricasti M1 for a month.
